I just got an invitation to the beta Kodiak private, so and I'm trying. As I mentioned
other day, Kodiak is an application platform that allows us to manage "our virtual empire" (as they say them.) In principle it is a private beta that allows for managing VMware. It is anticipated that also serves to XenCitrix and Hyper-V, time to time.
Why try this tool if you already have the VIC? Well, first because it is cross-platform: Mac, Windows and Linux. The latter because it offers (and will offer features) which is the VIC, as the speed, global vision ... and because we could (in future versions) to save a ESX Virtual Center for managing the overall ...
At the moment I installed Mandriva 2008 and is a very good, but missing features will be fine for version 0.0.1.
The installation consists of Adobe Air (must do a chmod + x the binary for Linux) and after Kodiak Air Package. In five minutes you have installed and running:
In this version you can see the map, rotate, get the VMs consoles, on, off, see datastores, resource pools, etc..
login screen looks like this:

Once inside we see a map like this (or similar): (The arches around the VM CPU and MEM symbolizes that they are using)

VMs can also see this:

What we can do with Kodiak (yet)?: Edit Settings
- VMotion VMs
- Add or Remove a VM
Updated: Milk! Scare these bears. Have only taken a few minutes since I put the post and have already made a comment!
